A Family Tradition

HomeShield Roofing

Growing up in a family of general contractors makes an impression that lasts a lifetime. Watching skillful artisans apply their craft to build a home or business from the ground up was inspiring and laid the foundation of values on which our company was built. Taking great pride in our craft has allowed us to carry on the family tradition of a job well done. As third generation contractors, you could say roofing is in our blood.

We love our craft and the sense of accomplishment that comes with providing you with quality service. Honing our skills in an ever-changing work environment is an adventure. Technology and the environment changes, but our commitment to excellence remains the same. Giving Back

Along with generational expertise, we are veteran and woman-owned and operated. We offer special discounts to all active, retired, and prior military. We take pride in caring for you and your family because you are willing to sacrifice for ours. A portion from the proceeds of every roof is donated to a charity that raises awareness for the prevention of soldier suicide. Our military families can always pick a charity closer to their heart if they would like.

We support and care for our single moms, widows, and any woman who might be concerned about meeting with a crew of all men. Our owner will come out and meet with you one on one, because your comfort and confidence is our top priority.

Safety and Comfort Under a Home Shield Roof.

” Trustworthy, efficient, knowledgeable. This is the best roofing company I’ve ever worked with.”

M. Plott -Burlington, NC

“My neighbors were all having their roofs replaced by some fellas who were knocking on doors in our neighborhood. I didn’t feel comfortable with letting them on my roof so I declined the offer and instead called my insurance company to come see mine. The young man who inspected said he knew of a company I could trust and was sure to do a great job so he left the phone number. I called and Ms. Kelly came out that very day to talk to me and look at my insurance estimate the adjuster left. She noticed a few things were missed but said for me not to worry, she would take care of it. She told me the shingle companies were not making all the colors anymore because of the pandemic but I really wanted colored shingles. She was able to find them for me! My new roof is beautiful! She found enough to redo my shed too, so it all matches. I couldn’t be happier and I made a new friend.”

C. Bird – Nashville, NC

” Our son noticed a brown spot on our bathroom ceiling so we thought we could have a roof leak. That’s what made us see we were missing shingles on our roof. We called a local contractor to come take a look and they said they don’t replace roofs but they work with HomeShield Roofing and asked if we would want them to bring them out with them to take a look. They all came out to see what the problem was and helped us file an insurance claim. They even put a tarp on our roof so it wouldn’t leak anymore. Our insurance paid for a full roof replacement and to repair our bathroom ceiling. Kelly and her crew handled the entire job and everything looks better than new.”

L. Scott – Hillsboro, NC

” Great people. Great roofs!”

T. Alder -Raleigh, NC

“Our insurance company wrote us an estimate over a year ago to have our roof replaced but because of the covid, we weren’t able to find anyone. We just didn’t feel comfortable having people out. A friend of ours told us about HomeShield and said they were very respectful and would make us feel comfortable. He was right. Kelly came to take a look around and explained all the needed done. She met with us outside and even wore a mask. We are older and not in the best health, so we don’t want to take unnecessary risks. We are so happy with how everything went and how nice our new roof makes our home look. Call her. You won’t be sorry.”

S. Cable -Sanford, NC

“Alvin is well-known as a great guy and a straight shooter. (especially on the driving range) We thought we needed a new roof and a mutual business acquaintance told me he married a lady who was in roofing so we gave him a call. He and his wife, Kelly, came out a couple days later and inspected our roof. Come to find out, we didn’t need a new roof at all. We were told we did by a company who knocked on our door. They were knocking on all the doors in our community. We didn’t feel right about that. I’m glad we trusted our gut. They showed us photos of our roof and told us it had several years of life left in it. We will be giving them a call when it’s time”

D. White -Wilmington, NC

HomeShield is very professional and cared about what they were doing. My roof looks great and everything was so clean when they left. Her son was very polite and knows a lot about roofs and cars. We talked about my pride and joy, my 67 Camaro. He said they used to work on cars a lot and plans on getting a Camaro after he finishes taking flying lessons. (flying lessons!!) I know if I ever sell mine, I’ll call him first because it would be in good hands. What a great family! 10/10 recommendation!”

Frequently Asked Roofing Questions

  • How long will my roof last?

Most traditional asphalt shingle roofs are designed to last 30–50 years. The true longevity of the roof, however, is greatly influenced by the weather.

The most popular form of roofing material on the market today is asphalt shingles. Because they are inexpensive and come with warranties that can last up to 50 years, they are installed on more than 80% of new homes.
While a metal roof’s lifespan is also dependent on weather, they are designed to last 60 or more years.

  • What type of roof is best?

There are several factors that go into deciding which type of roof is best. Different roof materials, their lifespans, and the cost of all things should be considered before the final decision is made. So, while everyone has their opinion of which is best, we can help you decide which is best for YOU.

  • Do I need to be home when you come out for the estimate?

Not always. However, without access to the attic, we have no way of knowing the true situation. For example, if soft spots are found on the roof, we need to see if the attic has been compromised or if the wood sheathing has rotted.
To do a thorough estimate, we like to have open communication with the homeowner. Our goal is to educate the customer and give them sufficient information to make the best decision for their family. We always appreciate the opportunity to walk each customer through the process from start to finish, but if you are unable to be present for the initial inspection, that’s okay too. We can always schedule a follow-up to discuss what we find.

  • Should I repair or replace my roof?

    Well, that depends.

Roof Damage: There may be a little, there may be a lot. Sometimes, that doesn’t matter. For example, while it’s probably obvious that a large amount of damage means replacement, a small amount could also. The age of your roof, repairability of the shingles, product availability for matching purposes, and amount of damage to the substrate all should be considered when making this decision.  Every case is different; consult a trusted expert at HomeShield Roofing to help decide. Even if you’re unaware of any damage, we suggest you have your roof inspected by a roofing professional every year to assess its condition and keep on top of any repairs that may be necessary. All HomeShield roofs are inspected 1 year after installation with a report of the condition at that time.

  • What causes a roof to fail prematurely?

The quality of roofing material, the thickness of a shingle, and the local weather and climate can all have a role in decreasing the lifespan of your roof. However, the number one cause of premature roof failure is improper installation. Poor workmanship is responsible for up to 99% of all shingle leaks that occur during a roof’s normal lifespan. Make sure you are hiring a licensed and insured contractor with a professional portfolio and an excellent rating.

HomeShield roofing is BBB accredited, veteran-owned & operated, and is HAAG certified. In the roofing and insurance industries, the phrase “Haag Certified” carries a lot of weight. It indicates that you can effectively and efficiently inspect and assess damage.
