Most Popular & Affordable

As the most commonly used roofing material in the United States, asphalt shingles are versatile and affordable. Though widely popular, the proper installation of a shingle roof requires knowledge and know-how that isn’t found everywhere. At HomeShield Roofing, we pride ourselves on maintaining the highest roofing industry standards at every stage of the job. We use only the highest-quality shingles, installed by our expert technicians, leaving your home well protected for years to come.

Extremely Durable

Metal Roofing

Consumers can benefit from metal roofing not just in terms of aesthetics but also in terms of weather resistance and reduced heating and cooling costs. A metal roof can be slightly more expensive than its shingle counterpart, but the pros can certainly outweigh the cons when considered over the life of the roof.

At HomeShield Roofing, our standard is 24 gauge, which withstands hail better than the commonly accepted 26 gauge panels offered by most other metal roofers, and our paint coating’s no fade, no chalk warranty is as good as it gets for 25+ years of chalk and fade protection. Additionally, the panels we use are galvalume and have a 1 1/2′′ rib height, which provides the best moisture resistance and the most aesthetically pleasing panel.

Frequently Asked Roofing Questions

  • What causes a roof to fail prematurely?

The quality of roofing material, the thickness of a shingle, and the local weather and climate can all have a role in decreasing the lifespan of your roof. However, the number one cause of premature roof failure is improper installation. Poor workmanship is responsible for up to 99% of all shingle leaks that occur during a roof’s normal lifespan. Make sure you are hiring a licensed and insured contractor with a professional portfolio and an excellent rating.

HomeShield roofing is BBB accredited, veteran-owned & operated, and is HAAG certified. In the roofing and insurance industries, the phrase “Haag Certified” carries a lot of weight. It indicates that you can effectively and efficiently inspect and assess damage.

  • How long will my roof last?

Most traditional asphalt shingle roofs are designed to last 30–50 years. The true longevity of the roof, however, is greatly influenced by the weather.

The most popular form of roofing material on the market today is asphalt shingles. Because they are inexpensive and come with warranties that can last up to 50 years, they are installed on more than 80% of new homes.
While a metal roof’s lifespan is also dependent on weather, they are designed to last 60 or more years.

  • Should I repair or replace my roof?

    Well, that depends.

Roof Damage: There may be a little, there may be a lot. Sometimes, that doesn’t matter. For example, while it’s probably obvious that a large amount of damage means replacement, a small amount could also. The age of your roof, repairability of the shingles, product availability for matching purposes, and amount of damage to the substrate all should be considered when making this decision.  Every case is different; consult a trusted expert at HomeShield Roofing to help decide. Even if you’re unaware of any damage, we suggest you have your roof inspected by a roofing professional every year to assess its condition and keep on top of any repairs that may be necessary. All HomeShield roofs are inspected 1 year after installation with a report of the condition at that time.

  • What type of roof is best?

There are several factors that go into deciding which type of roof is best. Different roof materials, their lifespans, and the cost of all things should be considered before the final decision is made. So, while everyone has their opinion of which is best, we can help you decide which is best for YOU.

  • Do I need to be home when you come out for the estimate?

Not always. However, without access to the attic, we have no way of knowing the true situation. For example, if soft spots are found on the roof, we need to see if the attic has been compromised or if the wood sheathing has rotted.
To do a thorough estimate, we like to have open communication with the homeowner. Our goal is to educate the customer and give them sufficient information to make the best decision for their family. We always appreciate the opportunity to walk each customer through the process from start to finish, but if you are unable to be present for the initial inspection, that’s okay too. We can always schedule a follow-up to discuss what we find.
